TopGear's technology (in conjunction with Perseus Analytics) can accurately estimate signal pathway activity from genome-wide expression data. Prediction algorithms based on expression data traditionally do not consider the correlation between genes and thereby discards useful information. Our software tools were developed to capture this information by using gene-gene correlations as an additional parameter in comparing testing and training data sets.

The analysis capability is a sensitive, specific, and an effective quantitative method for predicting the activity of signaling pathways or transcriptional networks using the information encoded in gene expression patterns.

This approach also provides for identifying cellular responses to virtually any type of perturbation in complex samples using any large data set consisting of continuous variables, including data from microarray, proteomic and epigenetic experiments.
